Citizen journalist site Scoopt will take your newsworthy photos and sell them to the media and split the income 50/50 with you.

They're interested in photos of headline news, disasters, politicians, celebrities and so on. They're based in the UK, so this is probably not all that useful for Canadians, but it's a neat idea.
